Before project initiation
Full refund: If a client cancels before any work has started, they are usually entitled to a full refund of any advance payments, though administrative fees may be deducted.
During the pre-development phase (e.g., planning, design)
Partial refund: If the project is canceled during this phase, the client will be charged for the hours already worked. The remaining balance will be refunded.
During the active development phase
Partial refund: Cancellations at this stage typically result in a charge for the work completed, calculated at the standard hourly rate. The remaining balance is then refunded.
Post-development or completion
No refund: Once the project is completed and delivered, no refunds are provided.
No refund for completed services: If a client is unhappy with the completed work, they should notify the project manager immediately. Negotiations for refunds after the fact are often not entertained.
Specific services
Domain names: Domain name registrations are generally non-refundable and final once purchased.
Monthly retainers/subscriptions: For services like SEO or SMM, clients must provide advance notice (e.g., 15-30 days) before the next billing cycle to avoid being charged for that cycle.
General terms
Refund method: Refunds are often issued to the original payment method within a few business days.
Disputes: Clients are usually asked to contact the company directly to resolve issues before filing a chargeback with their bank.
Violation of terms: Violating the terms and conditions of the service agreement may void the right to a refund.
